I took a chance with this this router and yesterday, July 1st, 2018 (not even 90 days later) the Netgear Nighthawk R7000's internet port completely stopped working. I noticed that the router was always really hot to the touch and assumed this was normal. I can still connect to the local network, but the R7000 is not able to receive internet at all. Re: Nighthawk R7000 Problems New FW frequently drops between the 2.4 and 5 GHz freqs (mainly the 5ghz) multiple times throughout the day. The disconnected occurs for about a minute and then reconnects about a minute later. Just got an email from Netgear about updating my Nighthawk R7000. There is no new firmware release, per email and Netgear web site the latest release is still 1.0.9.88 from July 4 2019. But need to log in to the router, go to Qos, re-do the speed test to let it recognize the "normal" speed.
